Lesson 1 - If you are a person "x" the there exists an hairstyle "y" that does not suits "x".Therefore, before going into a haircut, ask yourself -"Will this gonna suit me?" But how should I know whether a hair cut will suit me or not, before attempting it? Now that's the Million Dollar Question. That's what our whole post is about.
There are two factors that decides the suitability of a haircut on your face- the face cut and the hair texture. Though the second one is not that important.So here is the list of face cuts along with the most suited hairstyle:
The best way to determine your shape is by measuring it. Take a tape measure and measure the width of your jaw, forehead and also measure the length from one cheekbone to another. Take the average of these measurements. Then measure the length of your face by measuring from your the point where your hairline starts to your chin.
1. If the length is about the same as the width average – you have a ROUND face shape.
2. If the length is around 1.5 times longer than width average – you have an OVAL face shape.
3. If the length is more than 1.5 times longer than width average – you have an OBLONG face shape.
4. If the length is about the same as width average, but your jaw is the widest part of your face by far – you have a SQUARE face shape.
5. If your cheeks are the widest part of your face – you have a DIAMOND face shape.
6. If you have a pointy chin and jaw significantly wider than your forehead – you have a TRIANGLE face shape.
Oblong face also suit quite a lot of hairstyles, except for ones that are really short and tight on the sides, as it can make your face look much longer. Try something that are longer on the sides and layer the top. Wearing the hair down also could make it rounder and a bit shorter.
Men born with this face shape are really lucky. It suits almost all of the hairstyles, so rock anything you want, because you CAN. However, try to avoid long fringes, as this makes your face look rounder than it is. Instead of that, try to push it back. Choose a haircut depending on what face features you want to enhance. No offense but it looks some what complicated. People take very less time for selecting suitable hair cuts but they don't take time in measuring their size of the face just for hairc ut.
